My son started sleeping in his own bed when he was about 18 mo old. This rail was perfect for keeping him from rolling out of bed. It was long enough to cover almost the entire length of the bed but leave about a foot of room at the end for getting in and out. It is also adjustable so it can fit any size and type of bed.
