Good quality for less September 7, 2010 Clea V. Wilson Easy to assemble, good quality, much cheaper than other models. only complaint is no real lumbar support.
Picture is deceiving August 25, 2010 DG 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I researched hours on this and other websites before making this purchase. Even though I wanted to purchas an espresso finish, reclining rocker/glider, I chose this chair because the padding appeared to be much thicker than any other and the price was reasonable. What a deceiving photo! The bottom pad is only about 2" thick and the felt-type material looks like it won't withstand more than a year of wear. I am debating whether to send it back.
good quality rocker July 13, 2010 coppertone we purchased this glider for our firstborn; i was hesitant at first as i had heard the best reviews for the dutailer rockers, but they were on the whole more expensive and didn't have the fabric/wood color combo that I was looking for. the shermag rockers did get decent reviews, so we went for it and ordered it in oatmeal/cherry (beware: the packaging has 'cabernet' stamped all over it, so at first i was worried they had sent the wrong glider). i am overall very pleased with the purchase - the quality of the wood and fabric is good and it is quite comfortable. the glider mechanism is nice and smooth, and there is a lock for the glider (not the ottoman). the 'cherry' wood finish is a bit darker when compared to the other 'cherry' furniture we purchased for the room, but overall very nice and the wood is sturdy. very pleased with this product.
Bad Quality June 10, 2010 Karsten Weide (San Francisco, CA) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Exactly one month after the one-year warranty expired one of the pegs that connects the right arm rest to the base of the chair came lose. We have a more expensive version than the one described here, which incl. ottoman cost around $500, and for that kind of money I would expect the thing to hold until my grand kids can feed their grand kids in it. This is a bad quality product.
Great product! May 2, 2010 A. Smith (Twin Cities, MN USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this glider for our nursery, and we love it! Here are a few helpful things that might be good to know, though:
* COLOR: We bought the pecan with oatmeal upholstery, and the wood is definitely darker, and warmer than the photo. It almost looks like a light cherry or walnut color. It's beautiful (we actually like it much more in person) but this is good to know if you're trying to match other pieces. Also, the "oatmeal" color is slightly darker than the picture. Definitely a plus for the kids' rooms.
* SIZE: For those trying to make sure your glider will be wide enough to be comfortable, this one is "average." I'm definitely blessed with plenty of "junk in my trunk" and I fit comfortably in the chair, but there's not a lot of extra room. Measuring the seat, with all the cushions in, it measures about 18" from arm to arm. Definitely not one of the widest gliders out there, but adequate for us.
* ASSEMBLY: SO quick! Getting the arms to fit together right took a little bit of engineering, but once we fiddled around with them a bit, they fit right together! All of the "moving parts" come pre-assembled; it took us about 30 minutes to get the big pieces put together.
Fabulous value for the price, and a great color combination! Hope these things helped!
